Security has been increased in Bali

On the 05 October, the Sea food restaurant in Jimbaran Bali re-opened again. Cafe Nyoman and Cafe Menega as well as all cafes around Jimbaran were opened again.

The side streets on the way to Four Seasons Hotel is now fenced and controlled by local community and the only official entrance that goes to the cafes is now completed with metal detectors just like in an airport. Public is very happy with this situation now, the parking lot is all paved by the head of the Badung Regency.

In the morning of that Saturday, a cleansing ceremony was done by several High Hindu priests and the tourisms stakeholders in Bali, to make sure that all of the souls of the unwanted death go to its origin and not mingling around to disturb the human being who uses the location.

In the evening, Mr. Agung - the Head of Badung Regency, together with the consuls of friendly countries in Bali had a usual exotic seafood BBQ dinner on the beach front with nice music of Batak Trios who have been playing music every evening before. Present were the consuls of Switzerland and Austria, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy, Czechoslovakia, and other local dignitaries. The evening was full of safe atmosphere and the sound of the wave was very friendly. The boys and girls have a good time again like before and they enjoyed full seating occupancy. Nice songs were sung by several local Balinese and from Jakarta singers to add the nice atmosphere.

Police of Bali have been working more seriously than ever. They have done a lot to control the overall security of the island. Not only that based on the request of the President of Indonesia, the Indonesian military are also taking part in control of the security to work side by side with the Indonesian police. They have again activated they Kaster (Territorial Commando) system from high rank to village rank, to secure that Bali is safer again. Indonesia is a large country and the government is divided into Central Government, Provincial Government, Kabupaten Government, Kecamatan Government and Village Heads. The military commando is also arranged in such a way they have the Head of State military, Pangdam the Head of Province military, Kodim the head of Kabupaten military, Koramil the head of Kecamatan military and Babinsa is on the village levels. With this Kaster system they can cover all territory in one command; this is especially good for supervision and evaluation programs.

The Bali government is now stricter to control the inhabitants; every new comer to the island should be registered within 3 days otherwise penalty is made. Everyone who rent rooms have to report everyone who rent the rooms and this will be input on the data base. It is now become a must that all hotels, restaurants, shops, malls and offices to be completed with CCTV.

According to Bagus Sudibia, the Chairman of Bali Tourism Board, the government has given green light to support Bali with Rp. 278.6 Billion for security system, economic task force and supervision of the programs.
