PATA Travel Mart goes to Bali 2007

Bali and Indonesia delegations go to PATA International Conference in Pattaya 23-27 April 2006.

A large number of Indonesian Delegations went to PAC 2006, seen was Mr. Jero Wacik the Minister of Tourism and Culture of the Rep. of Indonesia, Mr. Thamrin Bachri the Director General Marketing, Tourism authority chairman and staff from Jakarta as well as Mr. Gede Nurjaya the Tourism Authority Chairman from Bali. Also both PATA Indonesia Chapter Chairman Mr. Alistair Speirs and PATA Bali & NT Chapter Chairman Mr. Al Purwa. A group of dancers and Music Gamelan from Bali were also with the group.

Indonesia hosted the Closing Dinner of the Conference on 26 April 2006; the event was hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Thailand together with the Minister of Tourism and Culture.

The dinner was a great success, more than 75 percents of the hall occupied, and those delegates who could not come sent their regret. Many of the people have to rush the same day or early in the morning owing to their on going flight and from Pattaya to the airport they have to calculate about 3 hours. The well known Indonesia Master of Ceremony Mr. Tantowi Yahya and the famous singer Ms. Kris Dayanti have brought the Indonesian Dinner atmosphere to the top.

This program is part of the way to invite the PATA delegation to come to Bali to attend the PATA Travel Mart in Bali next year 22 - 25 September 2006. Bali really hope that as much as 700 whole sellers from all over the world can come and see Bali for themselves and start to sell Bali again on their programs. They must see by themselves that Bali is still beautiful, the cultures are still indestructible, Life is still peaceful in many parts of Bali, the Hotels are so attractive and the people of Bali are still always smiling and eager to serve the best way they can.

Those bombing tragedies are not happening everyday, and not done by Balinese, in fact Bali is a victim of the terrorists just to be on the media or to be known worldwide soonest. It is not fair to punish the victims the Balinese by not visiting Bali anymore, and this is what the terrorists want and they win more and more proud if the tourists are helping them by not coming to Bali. Now that the Central Government is serious to eliminate these activities by catching a lot of them, the Balinese hope that it will never happen again.

Everything is becoming very cheap in Bali now, the food, the transport, the hotels and the handicraft. For those who are repeatedly coming to Bali they know this and they still come anyway, but the Balinese are also hoping that the first timers also can start coming to Bali and able to join to share the happiness of the Balinese.
