Lion Air flies to Singapore and Malaysia from 10 Indonesian cities

Indonesia’s Lion Air will fly to more international destinations. 
"In response to urging from the government, Lion Air will add more international routes, in particular to Singapore and Malaysia, where the airline plans to fly to from 10 Indonesian cities, said its Corporate Communication and Public Relations Director, Hasyim Arsal Alhabsi.
The ten Indonesian cities are: Medan, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Jakarta, Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Makassar dan Manado. Whereas, until now Lion flies to Singapore from Jakarta only. 
Lion Air will expand its fleet by at least 60 new Boeing 737-900 ER aircrafts at a cost of US$3.9 billion , while the leasing company is to be announced this upcoming December.
In the latest development, Air Communications Director General, M. Iksan Tatang told the press that Bali’s own Air Paradise plans to restart operations beginning March 2007. The airline, which at present is processing its air operating certificate, plans to concentrate on Australia to Bali flights, but will likely add Bangkok-Bali and Hong Kong-Bali to its routes. Air Paradise operates a fleet of Airbus planes.
